We've created a monster!!!

Well as many of you may know Jacob has been not feeling so well. Double ear infection and they are both draining with a fever. And a cold on top of that! constant boogies running out the nose and all over my clothes.
Now when we came home he was fine, slept in his crib no problem. But when he was sick he was not for any reason going to sleep in it or the play pen. So he slept in bed with Michael a few nights when I was sick to. And then with me when Michael was sick. Now he is slowly starting to feel better and will not sleep in the crib or play pen... help We've created a monster!!!
Any tips on how to break this habit (Jena ...help me)
Well since his fever was not going down after 10 days ped did blood work. All was well but he test did show he previously had mono. He does not have it now but he had at some point. I have read this is coming whenadopting from foreign countries.
Well better go make another attempt to place him in crib..

It took everything for me not to cry... but I am sick to and would make myself worse if I cried. But better go ... time to give out all the medicines!

quick update

Well its been rough since the day of our shower (SUNDAY)... he was acting strange at shower but had no temp or anything just cranky...which is highly unusual. Well that night fever 102.00... Tylenol ... next day Motrin... so Tuesday it seemed like he was fine..doctor said he was fine... then today 102.8 ... They think it is a virus going around but we have to hold him like 24/7 so he does not cry... cause of his temp.
I just wish I knew what was wrong our doctor said if temp goes of 103.00 tonight to take him to urgent care center. Motrin has taking it down to 99.0 for now. Knock on wood!
And now Michael has temp 101.00
But other than that good. We got alot of stuff at shower...to much clothing & bibs!! Had to take some back... But still need a few things... So we will be shopping once all is good again. but better go!

The crying game...

Well today was a pretty good day until tonight. Jacob was very very tired & just did not want to go to sleep. We tried everything... Rocking, walking, shimmy, shake EVERYTHING... once you would put him down he would cry. He did not want Michael. He wanted me... to hold him. Not to sleep but to just hold him so I did. But anytime he would start to sleep I would lay him down and the tears would flow and would cry so hard he was making himself cough. So mommy held him and calmed him down. We really do not want to start a bad habit by him thinking if he cries he will be held constantly. So if anyone has any tips...just in case we need them... greatly appreciate it!Anyway so I gave him a bath which normally calms him as well. Then we played watch mommy chase Jacob across the floor to put his clothes on while daddy & him giggled. Little stinkers!

Finally him & daddy were down on floor playing... So I could eat my cold dinner and get a hot bath. When I came down at 9:45 he was sound a sleep on daddy. Thank god! I felt so bad he was just so tired & just would not give in earlier.

Well Simon(dog) is adjusting well to the baby...especially since he has realized that he can clean up after Jacob if baby food is dropped. So far he likes bananas and sweet potatoes. (both Jacob & Simon) When I got home today from grandma & pap's Simon was so excited we were home he ran right up kissed my hand then gave Jacob a big lick on the forehead. Part of me was like yuck but the other part of me thought it was another way of him showing he excepts him... And actually missed him.

Well I am ready to fall asleep on the keyboard here so I better go catch some Z's

Oh here is a few more pics of Jacob at my work... courtesy of my friend Cindi Trivilino

Update.....

Well all is going well so far... Yesterday I took my little guy into my office to meet all the wonderful people I work with and they all loved him... Surprise Surprise! No one believed me when I said how cute and good he was. Well other than that we tried regular US formula Nestle good start he was ok with it..spit up a little more than usual but not a whole lot. We have tried bananas the last 3 days and he seems ok with them not his favorite. Simon likes them... Thats not a shock. He would eat anything!

So grandma is loving my boy to peices & so is Aunt Mar Mar (thats here nickname my neices gave her) & grandpap & my brother. Really all of our families and friends love him. This weekend is my shower. I am excited for everyone to meet him that I do not see on a normal basis and to see all of my friends. Well better go... Jacob calls

Updates....

Well things are going pretty good... Our little guy does have a bit of a cold from the weather change. So we went back to Doctor today... gave him augmentin and a nebulizer... (forgive the spelling). Jacob gained some weight up to 14lbs 9oz and is 26" long. And he can now eat stage 1 foods. We tried bananas tonight...he seemed ok with them. Everyone at the doctors office is in love with him... they said how beautiful he is and what a good baby he is. I have a bit of a sinus thing going on to...due to weather change.

So Michael went back to work today which seemed hard for him to leave Jacob. But as they say life goes on... Wish we did not have to work and enjoy every moment but that's life!

Jacob has been doing pretty well with the sleep transition...slept 8pm-4:30am last night. Oh and he has been sleeping in his crib in his room by himself. (Not bragging knock on wood ...sorry Jena) He is so beautiful. I find myself watching him sleep... he looks so peaceful and so cute. I love him so much. Well I better go get a bath since the little guy is a sleep.

This is Jena & Khai.. They shared in our experience to bring our son home..as well as hers. God bless their family & hopefully Khai will let mommy get some sleep!

We're home...

First I want to say...Thank you god so much for letting us get home to our families & friends safely.
We arrived at the airport this morning @ 6:30am... My parents had went to wrong place in airport..so I did not see them right when we got off but in minutes from then. I have to admit I was very very emotional... this was the first time they met their grandson and I miss them sooooo much. I actually started to hyperventilate and almost passed out cause I was crying so hard. My mom took the baby and they were trying to calm me down so my throat would open back up.... But it was an awesome feeling to see how happy he made them and how he took to them. (they talked to him in Vietnam everyday)
They did loss one of our bags... the bag I HAD to check per Vietnam Hanoi airport...My carry on that was supposedly to big... (passed all the guidelines and was actually smaller) I knew that would happen for some reason... But we are just thankful we are home.
In Hanoi they had sold our tickets out from under us since airline did not confirm them... so we had to wait till last minute and boarded plane right before it left... Crazy!! ( Jena & Elizabeth you know all about it)
Well all in all it was a great trip our son is home, hes absolutely gorgeous, and we have met 4 new friends. Jena, Sheldon, Elizabeth, & Khia (aka... beef cake) . I am so glad we got to share this experience with them and they truly are wonderful people...

Well better go sleep...
