Global warming or a gift from god?

What a beautiful day.... I think it got to 63 out today. Now for Pa that is very weird for this time of year. Usually we have snow and its freezing cold. It was perfect timing I think Jacob really needed to get out of the house so...In between working on my breaks & lunch. Pap & I took him out to play in the sand box, go for a walk and ride around on his bike. He loved it! (if you can not tell from the big smiles on his face) So anyway tomorrow is suppose to go up to 66 but come Wednesday back to 47 and lower for the weekend.

Wow, time is flying by! Jacob is turning 15 months old on the 12th. I can’t believe how big he’s getting, all the things he’s doing and saying, and what a fun & loving baby he is. I’ll give you some fun tidbits about our one and only Jacob.
He says lots of words, but most of them start with the letter B. I have no idea to why that is....
He says.....baby, boy, bath, book, ball, bad, bear, ba ( which is bottle)
Also dog, Mar-Mar which is my sister, Mary Kay which also is my sister... Grandma, grandpa, pap, mom, ma ma, dad, da da, yum, no, yeah, Hi, Hey, Jacob & doopie ( I have no idea what that is)
He is always pretending to make phone calls on his toy phones. He loves Mickey Mouse club house..(its his favorite) He loves the hot dog song ( from mickey mouse show) he dances every time it comes on or if you sing it to him. Also the Little Einsteins every time its on and they pat for the ship to get more power he does it.... he slaps his legs/ or chest with this hands and says pat pat pat..then throws his hands in air for the blast off. I love it!! He looks adorable when he does it. But he dances to all music...loves music..like his momma. He loves Gwen Stefani, Brian Adams, Nickle back ( got love him) He loves clapping & singing.

He is testing us on EVERYTHING... You say no and he makes sure your looking and slightly touches what you say no to. He has a real healthy relationship with his reflection...... He loves that baby!! He loves giving hugs & kisses and some times teases people with offering one than runs away. Little stinker!

He loves washing his tiny bit of hair, brushing his teeth, and brushing his hair or anyone Else's. He loves to help clean up he will help pick up toys and put stuff in garbage can for me.... Mommy's little helper..anyway I think that is plenty I could go on & on.

Well hope all is well with all... good night!

Jacob sends hugs and kisses....NOT!!! (told he was a tease)

I am emotional!!!

So I tend to be an emotional person... always have been. Especially about children, animals and well anything! For all you who know and those who do not know me... I am a small town country girl who before I met my husband which was when I was 18 ...never went outside of PA ( OK well Ohio... Cedar Point) Anyway I never knew much in the way of poverty, homeless, or orphanages. ( I knew it all existed just never saw it with my own eyes)
Since we have adopted it has open my eyes & I have become very emotional about it. I find myself some times thinking back about the orphanage seeing another baby or child in the next crib or bed... and I think what it must feel like to have no one... no mom or dad. No home to really call your own. And it TRULY breaks my heart! I just want to scoop them all up & hug them & love them and take them with me.
Lately I find myself thinking about it more & more. It weights heavy on my heart & mind. I have shed many tears. I think what can I do... I would love adopt all the children if I could .. but I am not a millionaire ( not even close) I know that alot of the babies get adopted out but there are some children who are older 2 3 yrs old who might get over looked. We thought about adopting and older child but it seems most agencies want to keep natural order in the ages of your children so since Jacob is 15 months they state a baby is best... anyway I just needed to get these emotions out so I could feel a little relief...but they will never go away. I will never stop caring... its who I am!

Here is a video of our little guy (@9months old) swimming this summer. With Pap, Aunt Mary, Myself & grams hanging out at the table (she's terrified of water... )He loves it~ I had the hardest time uploading video and usually never have time to figure it out other wise..enjoy!

A case of the giggles

Christmas follow up

More Christmas pic's. my Neices & Nephew had a ball opening present and of course Grams went over board on Presents. I think that is always going to be the case w/ grandparents. Had a hard time with a pic of nephew... he refused to leave his jeans on . He just ran around in his pull up. And if you know anything about Pa to cold to be running around like that. I actually pulled out our small heater to warm our finished basement a little more for him. And of course I had to add a pic of My guy attempting to mess up the alarm in our room... Got to love him!
Oh the other pic is the throw blanket I got made for my mother... It says on it Grandmas Angels Ashley , Joe, Samantha & Jacob 2007. Turned out great for only being $50.

So I heard from a friend that I have not seen or spoke to in a long while ...like 7 yrs I was 19 last time we hung out... She is doing great and is getting married soon. Congrats to Tamera & Jay.
And I may have commented on this previous... my friend Kim & Carl congrats they to are to be married. Kim, tamera & I worked at Kmart together when I was 17. We were quite the Group... We had so much fun working together. The good old days!! Jay & carl are very lucky men.

Well I Better go lay down..we are getting over a 48hr bug that seems to be going around in good old PA. Baby is at mom house so he does not get it. Its bad believe me I do not wish this upon my worst enemy.

Please pray this family soon gets there I- 600 form soon... so they can bring their adopted son home.

Food food & more food

So Christmas was at our house. And I cooked alot. Jacob and I made sugar cookies... which we followed up with a visit to Santa in our front yard. The fire department went around with Santa on the fire truck passing out a coupon for free ice cream for the kids. It was nice!
then we made home made pumpkin pies... turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, sweet potatoes, ham ( mom made that), stuffing, dinner rolls, and I made a cake. Oh yeah and mom made cole slaw..Yuck!
But all turned out good and it exhausted Jacob.

Merry Chritmas.... 2007

So we gathered the troops a few weeks back & got our picture taking. It turned out very nice. Jacob likes it. He constantly is pointing at the one I hung in our living room.
Well its been a bad few weeks with my brother in law passing, the Michael's cousin, & our family is finally getting over a horrible head cold. The runny nose still lingers. Christmas is at our house again this year. For my side of the family. We are very excited to see how Jacob reacts to it all. We got his picture with Santa... He was unsure of Santa but as long as mommy or daddy was sitting beside him on the bench he was fine. If my scanner was working I would post the picture. No tears.. which is good!
So the other day I watched this interview on Vietnam adoption... and it open my eyes even more. In Vietnam 200 babies are born a day, over 66,000 babies a year, 3 out of every 10 babies are giving for adoption. And the abortion rate is extremely high over there...(they gave no #'s) They talked to pregnant 17yr old who told them she has to give up her baby for adoption cause her family said. They can not afford to keep the baby. She was so heart broken..tears... She really wants to keep her baby. Then they showed children in orphanage that will never be adopted out due to medical or disability reasons... I cried so hard. I can not image what that young girl must be going through. I wanted to do something... But what can I do. I thought about it all night.... I know how much I wanted a baby & not to be able to have one killed me... emotionally! I was devastated. I could only image how hard it would be to be basically forced to give up your baby. I thought about Jacobs mother alot last night... I hope that she knows how well is taking care of ...and beyond loved by not only us but everyone...7 everyone who meets him. If I could send her a message (but no one knows who she is except god) I would thank her. She has giving me the most precious of gifts. The moment I saw him my life began. I have never loved anyone so much. And to her I owe my thanks... and to let her know He is doing great..he is beyond smart and growing every day. He is absolutely beautiful!
Anyway I better go.. Merry Christmas to all.......

In Loving Memory of

Its been a while since I have posted. Michael's brother Gary passed away. He was a great brother, father, husband, and son. He was always a gentleman towards me (everyone) and made me feel like part of the family. I will forever remember the beautiful sunflowers he brought for my 4th July party. He had some health issues lately with diabetes and took a turn for the worse. He will be deeply missed.

Fall, Family, Fun

So fall has arrived... cold, rainy, and all the leaves you can think of. Jacob loves the leaves throwing them, jumping in them and bringing them into the house. Today we carved a pumpkin & tried on his costume...Lion. He did not want to take it off. ( got it at a yard sale for $1.00) Will post Trick or Treat pic's after wednesday.
Jacob got a play golf set from pap & grams for b-day. He loves it... He seems to be a natural. I know what your thinking he's 1. I thought that to...but sports is his thing. He can throw, kicks ball around living room like a soccer player, and knows what to do with gold club. He makes his daddy so proud. And mommy.. I like sports.. I was a cheerleader 8 yrs & softball player for 9yrs. Anyway winter will soon be here then summer.. can not wait for summer..but I can cause I want my little guy to stay little forever! Beach and Back

Long time... no time to write.
Well we have been very busy we went to Hilton Head, SC for a week and Jacob loved it! He fits into our family perfectly... We are beach lovers! Hilton Head is like a second home to us. We go every year for a week for past 5 years. Anyway we had fun Jacob loved the endless sand box. We built a fort and watch Jacob crumble it to the ground. He loved the water, waves and shells. And he knows the concept of golf. He was taking his dads club and tapping ball on the putting green behind condo we rented. Can we say next Tiger Woods. Grandma still insists next Hines Ward (steeler) I attached some pic's for you all to look and will post more.
So Jacob is going to be 1 in 7days... its insane how time flew. I am planning his party ...sports theme.. Per daddy request.
